The ceramic sector is important in Peru because it presents, according to the latest studies in 2022, an approximate annual per capita consumption of 1.7m2/inhab. Consequently, it also generates employment directly and indirectly due to the great demand in the national market. Additionally, the growth of the ceramic industry is associated with the implementation of new technologies that originate the increase in non-linear loads. These are the causes of the presence of harmonics in the electrical supply that alter the correct functioning of the machines. This research work studies harmonic mitigation forms to select the most appropriate in the ceramic industry and prevent material and personal damage. For this purpose, the information of the analysis unit was collected based on the measurement of the most important parameters in the ceramic industry. Therefore, through a network analyzer, the data is verified in five different points of the single-line diagram. Subsequently, the corresponding interpretation is made. The data obtained from the field measurements are systematized through the software: PowerVision Plus, Excel, Autocad mainly. Next, the most important indicators are established and the harmonic distortion limit parameters are calculated according to the IEEE Std. 519 - 2014 standard. Thus, the main characteristics are analyzed, including the corresponding prices of the two main forms of mitigation of existing harmonics: passive filter and active filter. Finally, conclusions and recommendations are proposed according to the results obtained from the analysis of indicators to select the appropriate filter in the ceramic industries.
