The research work includes the design of the high-flow element filter, used in the diesel fuel filtration systems, located in the dispatch areas of the refineries, the research work was developed in order to improve the quality of diesel fuel, two types of fibers that make up the filter medium were evaluated, the cellulosic fiber and the synthetic fiber. Three different prototypes were manufactured using two types of filter medium, through experimental tests developed in the laboratory the results were obtained for the work parameters such as: the pressure differential generated by the prototype, the retention capacity of each type of filter medium and the quality of the filtered diesel fuel using each of the prototypes. The quality of the diesel fuel in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 4406 is determined with the count of contaminant particles existing in the fluid, a laboratory equipment was used for the count of particles and the quantities of contaminant solid particles existing in the fluid were obtained. filtered diesel fuel. Using a double layer of filter medium, made from synthetic fibers, better results were obtained for the quality of diesel fuel, the result of the level of cleanliness. of the filtered fluid according to the ISO 4406 code was less than 18/16/13, this is the standard cleanliness level in Peru.
