The transport and treatment of fluids is present in most industries, mainly in the oil and nuclear industries, however, due to the operating conditions in these types of industries, it is common to find different types of immiscible fluids interacting with each other, these types of flows are called multiphase flow. In the case of the oil industry, which operates with different pumping equipment, the presence of gas in centrifugal pumps, significantly impairs the operation, causing the performance of the equipment and the equipment itself to deteriorate and reduce its lifetime, which ultimately leads to a reduction of oil and consequently economic losses for the industry. Until the year 2022, there are several theoretical and experimental studies with the objective of understanding the behavior of gas and how it affects centrifugal pumps, however, in Peru, there is no record of any type of research related to this topic. In this scenario, the present work of professional competence aims to develop a calculation methodology for the design of a rotating two-phase flow test bench. For this purpose, information developed by several researchers specialized in the subject, who developed similar test benches with different objectives, is compiled. With the information gathered, the basis for a schematic design is established, which allows listing the equipment needed for the test bench. Next, the study pump is selected based on condition criteria according to the proposed objectives, and subsequently, the calculation of the rest of the main components of the test bench is performed, based on fluid mechanics calculations. The bench will have two lines of liquid and gas, which will be mixed at the inlet of the centrifugal or study pump.
