The present work of professional sufficiency compiles guidelines and technical criteria for the evaluation of the geometric road design in a project to improve roads and sidewalks in works of Metropolitan Lima considering the priority of the modes of transport in the Mobility Pyramid; as well as, propose the national or foreign norms, regulations and manuals referring to the geometric road design that best adjust to the reality of urban roads in Metropolitan Lima. In Chapter I, the background and problems that are currently presented regarding the lack of national regulations for geometric road design on urban roads will be provided, considering that we only have a geometric design manual for highways and does not take into account space limitations. on consolidated urban roads. In addition, Chapter II collects information from books, manuals, ordinances, etc. related to the geometric road design that can be applied in urban roads; as well as the description of the main concepts used in this Professional Sufficiency Work. Likewise, Chapter III details the official and public procedure that the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima develops to provide evaluations of the geometric design in projects on roads included in the Metropolitan Road System under its administration. Finally, Chapter IV presents the general and specific information necessary to carry out the corresponding geometric road design evaluation; as well as the compilation of the criteria and technical parameters mostly used in the mentioned evaluations, applied in real examples; as well as an example of projects that, due to different limitations, did not meet the technical parameters and what measures were taken to mitigate said scenarios.
