The control proposals for systems self-excited induction generator (SEIG) - wind turbine, which controls the rotation speed of the wind turbine, regulating the inclination of the blades; or those that regulate the voltage of the direct current link, using field-oriented control; they do not capture the maximum power provided by the wind. The maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control proposed for self-excited induction generator (SEIG) - wind turbine systems optimizes the power curve of the wind turbine, using generators with sufficient powers to control the speed of the wind system rotor, at which the wind turbine captures the maximum power from the wind. Although, for the generator, this speed is not always the maximum power point. In this work, the MPPT control of the SEIG - wind turbine system is presented, thus this new proposition allow to capture the maximum active power generated by the SEIG, in a wide range of variations of the wind speed. For this first, a detailed analysis of the dynamic behavior of the SIEG is carried out, followed by the analysis of the dynamic behavior of the GIAE - wind turbine system and finally the design and testing of the MPPT algorithm. The developed MPPT control is based on the Perturb and Observe (P&O) method. Thus, MPPT uses the angular velocity of the magnetic field as the perturbed variable and the active power of the generator as the observed variable. The test results show that the SEIG - wind turbine system with the developed MPPT algorithm operates with real wind profiles. In addition, advanced scientific knowledge of the dynamic behavior of the isolated GIAE and the SEIG - wind turbine system was obtained, which allowed the design of the MPPT algorithm.
