Currently, the awareness of society to be more careful with the planet, natural resources and the environment, makes it a constant search for the optimization of production processes and improvements in efficiencies are highly desired by companies, as well as the fall. The most competitive day in the world market proposes that profit maximization is always sought as an added value to any sustainable business management. In this context, hydroelectric plants that are operating for more than 20 years are susceptible to being repowered and optimized due to the advancement of technology that allows for the same conditions of flows and net heads to have more efficient machines, increasing between 2% to 5% of its power. In this work, a comparative energy analysis will be carried out to improve the power developed and the economic profitability of group 4 of the Callahuanca hydroelectric plant, developing a methodology to evaluate and validate the repowering project of group 4 of the Callahuanca plant. The execution of the repowering will generate an aggregate production of 14,97 GWh / year and an additional developed power of 1,89 MW, increasing its efficiency, reliability and extending its useful life.
