Worldwide, periodic changes have been made regarding the specification in the quality of Diesel considering increasingly lower values in the sulfur content of such gasoil, due to the fact that one of the main sources of air pollution is emissions of the vehicles of combustion, Diesel with low sulfur will reduce such pollution, the above along with the introduction in the market of vehicles with advanced emission control technologies with more efficient designs. However, considering international trends and national legislation, it will be required that the EURO IV Diesel to be produced in the Licensed Unit of HTD of the PMRT of PETROPERÚ in the Talara Refinery timely complies with the future quality specification according to the EURO VI standard regarding content of sulfur. However, as the Licensor Haldor Topsoe is the owner of the process technology of said HTD Unit, the necessary contractual modifications must be made in order for the Licensor Haldor Topsoe to guarantee PETROPERÚ that the EURO IV Diesel product will meet the future quality specification; For this, the measures are implemented, the necessary contractual modifications are established and it is determined whether the Diesel of such HTD Licensed Unit will comply with the EURO VI standard at the end of the PMRT. Considering the results of the studies carried out and the approval of the modification of the scope of the PMRT to produce fuels compatible with the international quality regulations for vehicle emissions EURO VI, in addition to only the prioritization and execution of the works in the HTD Unit that do not impact in the Start-up Plan of the New Talara Refinery (due to the fact that the total execution would modify the schedule of the PMRT), it is concluded that the quality of the Diesel of the HTD Unit in the Talara Refinery will not be adapted to the EURO VI standard at the end of the PMRT.
