The purpose of the research work is to develop an interlocking test protocol to prevent operations errors, for operations from four control levels, on the circuit breakers and disconnectors on a line bay of an electrical substation to the Peruvian National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN). The problem raised in the research work is based on the publications of statistics of annual failures and events published by the Economic Operation Committee of the National Interconnected System (COES), these publications and events reported during the operations of the switchyard equipment the disconnectors were operated with load which caused the destruction of the primary equipment and economic losses to the end users. To prevent operations sequence errors an interlocking test protocol is developed for circuit breakers and disconnectors. In this research work an analysis of a double busbar configuration of a 220 kV line bay connected to an electrical substation of the SEIN is performed, the line bay has the option of transfer to the coupling bay, the analysis considers all cases that occur during the operation of the switching devices and they are translate into a protocol to indicate the minimum interlocks to be met for a safe operation of the substation. The sample on which the data is obtained to validate the hypothesis is a line bay connected to an electrical substation of the SEIN that presented failures during the operations sequence.
