This research addressed the issue of application of the JGR software in the operational management of heavy machinery in open pit mining, most mining companies, faced with the drop in metal prices, close certain operations because the cost of operation and production cost of the same is higher compared to the sale price and all this in the absence of an administration with goals of planning, organization, integration, execution and control and this leads us to make decisions to improve the operational aspect and meet with the planned goals. The main objective of the research was to reduce operating costs of heavy machinery such as mining trucks, electric cable shovels and P&H drills and these depend on many factors, among which are the cost of preventive maintenance, the cost of tires and tracks, cost of labor, cost of various materials, cost of auxiliary services and cost of fuel and lubricants, likewise a methodology of quantitative approach, of application type, with explanatory level and design of quasi-experimental type was proposed. According to the results, it is concluded that, with the application of the JGR software in the operational management of heavy machinery in open pit mining, it was possible to reduce operating costs by an average of 12.83% between the mining truck, P&H drilling machine, electric shovel of cable and also the time of the maintenance program was reduced by 11.11% with respect to the results of Dispatch.
