The present work aims to design the instrumentation, control and supervision system of the new Animón Tailings Filtering Plant for the Compañía Minera Chungar de Volcan, in order for the plant to work in an integrated and automatic way, commanded from the center Chungar control. The work focuses on the sizing, selection and configuration of the instrumentation, for this purpose the technical specifications of instrumentation, List of instrumentation equipment, List of I / O signals and P&ID plans are developed. In the control and supervision part, the work focuses on the design and configuration of the Distributed Control System DCS PlantPAx 4.6 of the Rockwell Automation brand, in the communication part the control architecture is developed in ring topology with Ethernet IP communication protocol, virtualization and server configuration is performed. In control system development, controller configuration and programming is performed in Studio 5000 software. In supervision system development, graphical interface configuration and programming is performed in FactoryTalk View Site Edition software. The DCS of the Tailings Filtering Plant is integrated into the DCS of the Chungar Concentrator Plant through the Ethernet / IP communication protocol. As a result, a single highly reliable integrated system is obtained that allows to improve operating times, control of process variables, have a continuous process and reduce the risks associated with plant control.
