The Tailings storage is a necessary practice to avoid contamination, so it is essential to provide a retention structure that is stable and can contain the expected storage. This is how this report shows the physical analysis of a properly compacted filtered tailings deposit (dried tailings), which are stored in two (02) stages, with the particularity that these tailings are stored upstream. In the first stage, the earthworks are projected to carry out the excavation and shaping of the starting dam that will be the structure that will contain the filtered tailings, in addition, the dam in question is reinforced with uniaxial geogrids and constituted by a frontal facing of gabions with Salary readjustment. These materials have been necessary to consider within the project, since in addition to improving the physical conditions, it makes the dike cover less space in its conformation. The second stage of the project is similar to the first, it consists of an initial excavation, located upstream and a formation of filtered tailings compacted on the tailings made up in the first stage, so that for its construction it is essential to finish the first stage. The inclusion of surface water and groundwater drainage systems has been considered in both stages, all the structures mentioned in chapter III. Chapter IV shows the field studies and laboratory tests necessary for the recognition of the materials and the obtaining of parameters, it should be noted that the material with which the dam is modeled belongs to the product of the initial excavation. With the data obtained from the tests, the slope stability analyzes are carried out in both stages of formation, as well as the physical stability analyzes of the starting dam, the analyzes are carried out by the limit equilibrium method under static conditions and pseudostatic, the physical stability of the reinforced soil wall is also presented, these results are shown in chapter V.
