The purpose of this professional proficiency report is to describe the quality control and production control activities carried out in the glutamic acid production process. For this, it is important to start with the description of the glutamic acid production process and then identify the variations in the properties of the fluids such as viscosity, concentration, pH and color that could alter the technical specifications of the process lines and the finished products, as well as the variations in the process control variables such as temperature, flow and concentration that could cause a decrease in performance. In order to identify the variations in the process there were carried out the analysis of the concentration results of the main lines of the glutamic acid crystallization section, material balances for the calculation of the production yields, analysis of the crystallization temperature profiles and the graphing of the main process control variables to determine trends. In addition, several research projects, experimentation and implementation of improvements were carried out, such as pH adjustment in the glutamic acid acidification process, analysis of the yields of the syrup processing process instead of sugar cane molasses, implementation of the use of a cleaning additive for mother liquor evaporators, among other projects which have the objective of increasing production yields and reducing costs. Finally, the development of all these activities was of great importance because it was able to meet the production and quality objectives of the glutamic acid production section, maintaining the operating conditions of flow, temperature and adequate concentration according to the raw material used.
