The present research work title “ANALYSIS OF USED MOTOR AND TRANSMISSIONS OILS OF ARTICULATED VEHICLES OF 18 M PUBLIC TRANSPORT TO PREVENT FAILURES DURING YOUR SERVICE“, aims to reduce mechanical failures through oil analysis in the engine and transmission assemblies. Currently many of the Peruvian companies apply traditional maintenance (Preventive and corrective); which for many cases is not enough, therefore, an alternative comes to be predictive maintenance. The main objective of the Metropolitano service is the mass transportation of people, which, since it is an important system in daily life, must establish new standards that allow obtaining the highest possible availability, using data from engine and transmission failure counts, and the annual route, in 2019 an average value of failures per million kilometer was calculated 1.88 for the engine and 3.0 for the transmission, the number of failures by these systems directly affects this indicator, in general, there should be no unexpected stops due to these systems, since due attention and importance are not taken to the results of oil analysis. So, the main problem is how to generate actions in the sets of engines and transmissions based on oil analysis to improve the availability of the units. There is a Proactive strategy that establishes two types of alarms: absolute and statistical alarm; In this sufficiency work we will use a strategy of both types of statistical alarm based on the equipment's own values due to the hard-working conditions of the machines and taking absolute data from the manufacturer, this will help to establish warning and control limits. With the help of these established limits, the causes of the different failures are determined, and in this way generate an action plan that allows us to program work orders on the buses of the fleet, and preventing that they are up to unforeseen failures.
