In this research work, different configurations for a hybrid solar-wind system are evaluated in order to supply a specified electric load demand in the Lambayeque region, considered as a reference. The objective of this research is to determine the cost of electricity generation for each configuration of the hybrid solar-wind system in order to determine which one is more feasible. The electric load profile considered as a reference, indicates more power needed during night time. A forecast of such energy demand is carried out considering a 20-yr period. Then, five alternatives are considered, including one based on 100% solar power, another one based on 100% wind power, and other three hybrid configurations with energy from both solar and wind resources. The forecast load demand is 150, 75 kWh/day, that may be served by a hybrid system, composed by 22,6 kWp solar power installed capacity and 24 kW wind power installed capacity. The generation cost for such hybrid solar-wind system is 220 US$/MWh, while the generation cost for a 100% solar power system is 274 US$/MWh, and for a 100% wind power system is 306 USD/MWh.
