This research work focuses on the analysis of the alignment of the propulsive system in fishing boats with engine room located in the bow. The optimal functioning of the propulsion system of a fishing vessel is essential, because it allows the movement at sea in safe conditions for the crew. The problematic reality is described in the costs of corrective maintenance, which generate an inadequate alignment in the propulsion system for this type of boat, additionally, the bad alignment process directly influences the operation of the boat, which increases the cost in operation, when the boat is fishing. Within the framework of the investigation, the components that make up a propulsive system of a fishing vessel with an engine room in the bow are described, these components range from the propulsion plant (engine and box), the power transmission (shafts, bearings, liners, horns, etc.) and even the propeller (propeller). It is proposed to carry out the analysis of the alignment process in the propulsive system, which is used in fishing boats with a machine room in the bow. In the first case, when a construction or modification project is carried out, with the following stages (Design, manufacturing, assembly, alignment and testing); and in the second case, when general maintenance is performed on the system (inspection, disassembly, maintenance, assembly, alignment and testing). The research work focuses on improving and standardizing an alignment procedure, in the propulsive system of a fishing vessel with an engine room located in the bow, in order to improve the conservation of the components of said system, thereby reducing the corrective maintenance costs, which are carried out periodically to each of the elements that comprise it. Additionally, this will have an influence on improving the operability of the vessel, when it is sailing or fishing. The different types of existing alignment for this type of vessels are analyzed, it is proposed to standardize an improved procedure that allows a correct alignment process to be carried out, going through the stages of inspection, maintenance of components, calculation of falls to establish an alignment sheet. assembly, alignment, alignment control (with improved inspection formats) and sea trials. Finally, a maintenance cost plan is made and the comparison is made when the propulsion system of a vessel is misaligned, with a vessel that applies the appropriate procedure to the alignment of the propulsion system.
