The science of the explosives engineering throughout the history has developed in an impressive way, from the invention of dynamite by Alfred Nobel to the greatest in the history of explosives Dr. Melvin Cook with his latest inventions of the emulsions, Heavy ANFO and plasma. The physically sensitized emulsions entered Perú and were detonated for the first time in 1983 at the Tintaya Mining Unit due to the problem of groundwater flowing at a rate of 45 liters/minute. Cook having invented chemically sensitized emulsions in 1956, they come into Perú in recent years. It has been shown in the case-studies of the most representative mines that both commercial explosive mixtures are excellent in terms of rock blasting results, satisfactory results in granulometric indices having a P80 of 6.4“ in The Study 1 Mine, a P80 of 7.08“ in The Study 2 Mine, a P90 less than 2“ in the Study 3 Mine and a P80 of 4.89“ in The Study 4 Mine, indicating good fragmentation. But, in terms of costs it has been demonstrated by applying Student's t-test that the gasified emulsion has lower cost on average $0.2789/Tm, this is due to the gasification process that occurs inside the drill when it has already been loaded; compared to a heavy ANFO of $0.3470/Tm.
