In the manufacturing industry, there is high competitiveness between brands, where companies seek that products have high quality with the best possible operating cost, that involves technology constantly changing, therefore, industrial processes are increasingly automated. The automation of the factories generates that most of the manufacturing processes of products are carried out by the machines, and that the workers carry out fewer manual activities; on issues related to occupational safety and hygiene, this could impact on the following; it would generate less ergonomic risk, less frequent exposure to danger, but greater severity in work accidents. The latter encourages companies to have a greater focus on the implementation of different types of operational controls in the company, for example, engineering improvements in machinery, constant training, personnel with the appropriate skills, etc. The report will develop how the industrial process of a production line of personal care products for adults (adult diapers), have the best synergy between technology and machinery safety, which allows workers to develop their activities with reliability not suffer injuries, and that are exposed to minimum acceptable risks. This occurred through the identification of hazards and risks of the activities of the workers of the machine, during the normal operation of the equipment and during the maintenance of the machine. Information was collected in the company's facilities, in the exhibition area, during meetings with the different teams that work or intervene in the team. With this information, a risk assessment of machinery - operator was carried out, whose methodology is based on the ISO 12100 standard - “Guide to the manufacture of safe machinery“ and international reference standards. Looking to quantify the risk exposure of each of the workers' activities. With this evaluation, risks are prioritized according to the valuation, based on the employees' activities, frequency of exposure, risk severity and probability of occurrence of injuries. According to the valuation, the search was made for different alternatives to reduce and mitigate the exposure risk of workers, through the elimination of activities, engineering controls for machinery, seeking the elimination of uncontrolled energies (pneumatic, hydraulic, gravitational, among others) and the mitigation of the risk of exposure of uncontrolled energies to workers. It should be considered that other types of controls were also implemented that helped to obtain the lowest possible acceptable risk, not necessarily based on engineering controls of the machinery.
