The present research postulates a method of graphic architectural analysis based on the method of G.H. Baker, who attends to both the finished object, already built, as well as knowing how to get there; it involves the search for the determining factors of its constitution: what? as? or what for? of the architectural object. It also arises under the contributions of Ching, Mata and Seguí (categories, analytical drawing and architectural interpretation). As a whole, the presented method involves the achievement of an instrument that guides an analytical protocol of the architectural object and that is presented as the preliminary and necessary phase to other research and study processes; understood as a vehicle or strategy that aspires to the knowledge of said architectural object from the understanding- interpretation of its components, their relationships and their explanation. The method that we present here aims at a process of abstraction and perception, which requires outlining or drawing instruments that allow its registration, which invites reflection-reasoning and achieves: 1. the understanding-interpretation of the object; 2. the ability to explain it; and as a consequence of both: learn- understand and learn-do; know the essence of an architectural object; and implicitly: knowing how to proceed for its creation-projection. An analysis method whose verification results from the application to specific cases: contemporary architectural objects of the city of Lima-Peru, considered singular and / or paradigmatic: The Place of Memory, Tolerance and Social Inclusion of the Ministry of Culture of Peru (LUM); The building for the new headquarters of the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC); The Interbank Tower (TI); The Pachacamac Museum (MP) and The Lima Convention Center (CCL). Thus, based on the corroborations and the findings obtained here, we reaffirm the relevance and validity of architectural analysis for the understanding, interpretation and explanation of the architectural object; In sum, we emphasize that it is the means that allows the constitution of knowledge whose significance has repercussions beyond it and is presented to us as a research process, as an organizational strategy that processes data and generates unprecedented information.
