The global context of changes in the methods of industrial production, due to technological advances, is carrying out to several transformations including those directed towards knowledge societies, in which knowledge exchange and ideas are key factors to the progress and sustainability of these societies. In an underdeveloped country like Peru, an important strategy to promote this economic and social transformation consist of connecting strategic actors of innovation (academy-companies-State) through the creation of Productive Innovation and Technology Transfer Centres (CITEs) by the government. However, currently, this infrastructure is being implemented inefficiently, which is evident in its sitting, architectural design, and functionality. Considering design guidelines to physical innovation spaces and theory about human behavior favorable to this process, this thesis proposes a methodological guide and new criteria for designing and evaluating these spaces. Thus, conceiving and projecting a new architectural typology of Innovation Centres suitably adapted to its urban, social, economic and environmental context, which will serve to change the perception about this Centres as tools to the urban and social development within its sphere of influence. Being Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) a priority economic sector and needed for the development of this country, and locally, it is a sector with the potential to develop within the urban and economic context in which this Innovation Centre is located.
