The project of Centro de Difusión Cultural – “Barrio Criollo“ is framed in a context of change and transition towards new processes that involve the fourth industrial revolution. Processes that will transform the way we perceive, create, modify and interact with reality, which will lead to the need for specific capabilities to face the new era of automation and digitization, which will undoubtedly also transform the way in which social subjects interact with their city. In the city of Lima there are no spaces where knowledge about the creation and use of these tools is allowed or encouraged. The knowledge in these technologies could open the way to the realization of diverse artistic cultural expressions, and, in addition, they can be translated into skills and capacities of economic competitiveness for this new market. Because the appearance of new technologies leaves a gap of inequality at the social level, the possibility of carrying out the project in the Monserrate neighborhood is proposed, an area with urban problems that address physical and functional integration with the rest of the city. This new use would be complemented and enhanced by the possible development of the historical and cultural dynamics characteristic of the neighborhood, with the intention of redefining the urban spaces that have been decisive for the construction of our current society.
