The reliability management is one of most important pillars for maintenance due to it can prevent failures during the phases of planning and analysis. The running of these techniques impact significantly in the downtime and efficiency indicators. The development of the science and engineering these lasts years allow us to have a large number of available tools to assure a high reliability in the assets. The development of this thesis looks for the integration of all these quantitative and qualitative tools with statistical methods in order to improve the outcomes measured by the reliability indicators. This methodology links criteria and concepts such as the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), process modelling using distribution theories, stochastic models simulations and reliability indicators calculations. The outcomes and conclusions reached confirms the positive impact of the proposed methodology for not only the mineral shipping systems but also others systems.
