The present research aims to study and compare the influence of recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) bottle particles as a partial substitute for fine aggregate, on the behavior of concrete in a fresh and hardened state. Its main hypothesis is that the behavior of the mechanical properties of concrete with the addition of recycled PET particles (RPET), with percentage variations of 5%, 10%, 15% and 30% as a replacement for fine aggregate, is not less than of a standard concrete with 0% addition of RPET. For this purpose, the dosages of the aggregates were calculated (according to the ACI - 211.1 - 91 committee and the global aggregate method), for water cement ratios equivalent to 0.50, 0.60, 0.65 and 0.70, in different proportions of replacement of fine aggregate by RPET at 5%, 10% 15% and 30%. And in the process the tests of the aggregates (sand, stone, RPET) were made. The fresh concrete was tested for consistency, unit weight, air content and setting time. At the same time, the casting of concrete beams and specimens was carried out for the analysis of the properties of the concrete in the hardened state. As the main results, it is mentioned that the research hypothesis is fulfilled because, for a / c = 0.50 and a replacement of fine aggregate by RPET of 5% by weight, a non-inferiority relationship was obtained in relation to the concrete standard, for the axial compressive strength and the diametral compressive tensile strength.
