Initially, the general characteristics of the Imperial district – Cañete are presented, such as: geographical location, communication routes, traffic, transportation, topography, climatic, demographic and socioeconomic aspects. The study presents the visual evaluation of the pavement of some roads in the Imperial district, choosing three paved roads and one unpaved road. The condition index in which they are found is determined in each case, according to PCI and URCI parameters. Records of superficial and some structural deteriorations are obtained, with different levels of severity. Most of the roads observed have superficial deterioration, which causes a decrease in the level of pavement serviceability. Roads in good condition have been found. However, there are another considerable number of roads that are at the end of their serviceability. For this reason, it is important to implement road maintenance through routine and/or periodic maintenance that provides users with safety, comfort and less transport time. On the other hand, it has also been observed that unpaved roads are in an acceptable state. However, the ideal is to have better comfort when traveling. In this way, the level of service on the roads will be significantly improved. That is why the identification, classification and monitoring of the paved and unpaved roads in the area is justified in order to propose more convenient alternative solutions. With which, finally, a pavement technological alternative is chosen according to the state it is in and the type of characteristics of the district. Finally, this mainly makes it possible to reduce intercommunication and transit problems for the population in the area of influence.
