In the first place, for reasons of reliability, the real name of the mining company will be ignored and it will be considered exemplary to be called “RM Mining Unit” Bearing in mind that the data that we will present are real and obtained with the “Guardvant” Anti-Fatigue System. The names of the processes and geographical areas within the mine are fictitious, any resemblance to reality is coincidence. This research work aims to reduce or eliminate accidents caused by fatigue and drowsiness while driving haulage trucks in the RM Mining Unit. The background dates back to 2014, when one of the trucks loses its balance, sale of the haul road and ends in a sedimentation pool and extends until 2017 when another truck deviates, invading the opposite lane and leaving of the haul road finally climbing to a slope. The underlying problem for all these accidents is the condition of fatigue, drowsiness and distraction that occurs in haul truck drivers in the mine. The factors are diverse by which fatigue and drowsiness occur, which will be addressed in this work and range from the quality of sleep to the driver's own psychological factors. Distractions while driving have caused accidents at the mine and their analysis will also be part of this work. Thus, it was detected by the use of advanced technologies to be able to counteract this phenomenon since it will be of the utmost importance for the development of this thesis. The “Guardvant” Anti-fatigue System offers an optimal solution for the identification of fatigue, drowsiness and distraction in real time through the use of optical sensors installed in the cab of the truck automatically monitors the closing of eyes, facial movements and movements of the head and other unsafe behaviors while the vehicle is in motion. After the event is detected, activate the alarms in the cabin, create the event in a local database and immediately the mine supervision will be informed who will take the preventive action measures to take care of the operator. The implementation of this control tool was a task not easy to perform, there were many doubts and complaints among the operators but in the end, they knew how to understand the purpose of this tool, which was to take care of them and protect them. At the beginning there was a phase of white march and awareness so that operators can familiarize themselves with the system and understand its operation well. The path from its implementation to its application means a difficult but not impossible task for the company. The results were very positive, because it gave us an immediate reach in the situation in which we are and where we wanted to reach. In conclusion, the application of the “Guardvant” Anti-fatigue System in the RM Mining Unit was very important, because since its application no other accident due to fatigue, drowsiness and distraction was reported to date. And according to Peruvian standards, the employer is entitled to apply new technologies that help and protect its employees from the danger and risk conditions that exist in the workplace. Human value is the greatest value that a company has because in life there are no successful companies, what exists is that there are successful people in the companies because the company itself is made up of people.
