In the oil industry, maximizing the recovery of oil in the reservoir is of vital importance. The oil recovery factor depends on the conditions and properties of the reservoir, on the characteristics of the fluid, and also on the technology used to produce it. To produce oil, two methodologies are always used in the primary recovery stage, depending on the energy confined in the reservoir: surging, using the reservoir's own energy or using artificial lifting methods, to supply or complement the energy own of these. Among the artificial lift methods; there is mechanical pumping, which uses mechanical energy from an electric or combustion motor to supply the energy of the reservoir, transmitted through a pumping unit. The rods of the system are usually made of steel, classified into different types according to the grade of steel, the type of load and the level of corrosion in the wells, the types of rods most used in batch X are rods grade C, D and UHS. The problem in Lote X, is the continuous use of yellow and blue band grade “D“ steel rods in shallow wells in the Peruvian Northwest, which generates shortages in the warehouse, large costs of new material and an increase in rods. green band. The main objective of this thesis project is to analyze by means of the SROD program the behavior of the green band rods in comparison with the C, D and UHS type rods.
