This professional competency work is studying the design of a reliability based maintenance plan for 793F mining trucks in order to reduce unscheduled downtime that occurs during truck operation. The design of the maintenance plan is developed in the deposits of the highlands of northern Peru, it is applied in the open-pit mining operation owned by the company Antamina. In order to execute this thesis, information has been gathered from the maintenance records, the maintenance structure, the manufacturer's information and the field operating status of the trucks. A maintenance history analysis was performed; Analyzing in detail the stops with more frequency and the stops with time of May using the information provided by the manufacturer. Finally, it was determined that the activities would be included in the maintenance plan together with the evaluation and inspection forms that were prepared to carry out the maintenance activities in order to reduce the stops of the 793F trucks.
