Currently, with the current topology of the national interconnected electrical system (conventional), electric power must be carried long distances to reach the consumption centers, such as rural localities, which in some cases have a minimum demand. In this process of energy transport, large technical losses of electrical energy are produced mainly by joule effect and by corona effect in the transmission and distribution networks, which finally translates into high costs for the distribution companies. The methodology used is based on the minimization of technical losses by applying the optimization method known as “swarm of particles“ identified by its acronym in English: PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization), this methodology allows selecting the most convenient location and power of a unit generator in a distribution network, this in order to minimize technical losses and in turn improve the tension profiles; It should be noted that the proposed methodology is a computational technique that can easily optimize non-linear problems. Among the contributions of the thesis we have the use of the information available to distribution companies in a geo-referenced system, which can be imported into a dynamic database such as DigSilent and use the same tools as the DLP module that allows the programming of the proposed methodology “particle swarm“ (PSO) to determine the location and optimal power of a distributed generation to supply electricity to the network through the use of photovoltaic systems. Likewise, with the proposed methodology, the integration and automation of the process of calculation of technical losses in the distribution networks and presentation of results can be carried out
