This report arises from the need to make the operation more efficient with respect to maintenance in the treatment process of mining tailings from the concentrator plant of the mining companies. The mining tailings classification is carried out using Hydrocyclones, which will separate these tailings into two types with slightly different specific properties in both cases with respect to their granulometry. The study is carried out based on the operation of a battery of hydrocyclones belonging to the mining company Peñasquito S.A. in Zacatecas Mexico, the brand of this equipment is KREBS, which is made up of 15 hydrocyclones placed diametrically opposite. The activation and deactivation of these hydrocyclones will be carried out by means of knife-type valves. The data extracted from the operation of the hydrocyclones will be entered in the simulated algorithm in the MatLab® platform in this report, making the comparison between the amount of maintenance with the current control strategy implemented.
