A new FCC unit will be implemented in the Talara Refinery, which is why the new technologies to be implemented in the new FCC unit of the Talara Refinery will be analyzed and how these technologies that will be implemented affect the process, where it is desired to process a greater load with compared to the old FCC unit. The new technologies to be implemented should result in greater stability to the catalyst structure, a better regeneration of the catalyst activity and reduce the losses of catalyst that is entrained with the products, as well as greater operational flexibility and an increase in the yields of the products obtained in the FCC unit. Additionally, it will be necessary to have a treatment system for the combustion gases from the regenerator before they can be emitted into the environment, complying with the current regulations of the maximum permissible limits. As a result, the new FCC unit will operate with a load that will favor the new operation, a termination of the riser will be used that will be VSS type, the stripping section of the reactor will be a section with gaskets, the regenerator will produce a complete combustion of the catalyst coke spent. The catalyst cooler will give greater operational flexibility and the regenerator's flue gas treatment system will be a Wet Gas Scrubber, which will allow compliance with environmental regulations.
