The operation of gas turbines depends on the environmental conditions in which it is operating. The purpose of this work is to study the impact of environmental conditions on effective power and performance in a gas turbine operating in a simple cycle of the SEIN. A thermodynamic analysis of the gas cycle is developed to evaluate how ambient temperature, relative humidity and ambient pressure affect the efficient operation of the turbine. This analysis is used to demonstrate that the environmental conditions that have the most impact on the operation of the turbine are the temperatura and ambient pressure, however, due to the calculation process embodied in this research work, only the ambient temperature will be considered for final calculations. A statistical analysis of the behavior of the SEIN gas turbine is then developed, configured in a simple cycle. This turbine called TG8 belongs to the Santa Rosa Thermoelectric Power Plant of the company Enel Generación Perú. The behavior of the power and the performance with respect to the ambient temperature is evaluated during a complete year. Using the calculation method embodied in Procedure No. 17 of the COES - SINAC «Determination of the Effective Power and Performance of Thermoelectric Generation Units», the effective power and performance of the selected turbine is calculated. Finally, the results obtained are discussed and compared to the data obtained in his last EPEyR.
