In this research of professional sufficiency, the use of LPG as an alternative fuel to gasoline that is used in outboard motors for personnel transport vessels in the city of Pucallpa is studied. Due to the lack of an exclusive Peruvian normative for the use of LPG in vessels that transport people, the provisions of NTP 321.115, NTP 321.116 and those indicated by NFPA 58 will be taken as a reference. In this research, information from publicly accessible sources has been compiled and a boat model has been proposed based on the information collected and the geographic characteristics of Ucayali river, in order to ensure navigability at any time of the year. For the design of the LPG feeding system, the required outboard motor selection was made considering the features of the proposed vessel, then the LPG storage tanks were designed using the recommendations of ASME Secc. VIII Div. 1. The components of the supply system are proposed, including the selection of accessories for the LPG liquid and vapor phase consumption line. Finally, a carbon footprint analysis will be carried out to determine the level of reduction of CO2 emissions from LPG compared to the use of gasoline and an economic analysis to evaluate whether the investment made in a period of 5 years, for the conversion of the system is feasible and profitable.
