This Sufficiency work is aimed at energy efficiency in the compressed air system, considering the multiple factors that influence the operating costs of generating compressed air, equipment to improve energy efficient in treatment and distributing compressed air for the industrial and mining sector. Industrial manufacturing, mining and metallurgical companies are large consumers of compressed air; however, a high percentage of these companies do not have defined the cost of producing compressed air and if this system is efficient or there is an opportunity for improvement. Through energy analysis in compressed air systems with electrical equipment, the current situation can be identified, the current efficiency of the compressed air system. Once the current situation has been identified, read through direct and indirect measurement instruments, we detect opportunities for development in each part of the process, from the generation of compressed air, control of the compressors working group, the controlled equipment for treatment, pressure drops typical of treatment equipment, sizing of compressed air tanks, treatment of condensates and pressure drops in the distribution of compressed air through the pipe network. The main operating cost of a compressed air generation system using electrical equipment is the electrical energy consumed, however, there are other costs associated with the compressed air system such as energy produced in the form of heat that has not been used.
