In the first chapter the generalities, problematic objectives and Investigative Background for the development of this work are mentioned. The second chapter describes the theoretical framework on which the development of this thesis is based. This section includes information on naval architecture, such as materials and construction processes used traditionally and currently. Mention is also made of quality requirements for welding of shipbuilding and welding challenges Steel A 131, material of which the ship to be built will be composed In the third chapter the research work is developed where the steps taken for the elaboration of the welding procedures are described. After analyzing the joints in the main structures of the ship to be welded, the application of the respective standards was carried out to establish the test and qualification ranges. Then the tests required on the welded specimen to perform the qualification of the welding procedure are shown. Subsequently, the results obtained during the tests are shown. In the Fourth chapter, the analysis of the results obtained from the tests is mentioned, as well as the variations of the welding parameters that had to be performed to obtain weld seams free of failures, as well as various external factors that influenced the results obtained. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations of the work are presented. We sought to establish relationships between the different welding parameters and patterns of behavior of the material against them.
