The objective of this certificate of research proficiency project is to manage a preventive maintenance plan to improve the availability of a polypropylene fiber extruder, how part of the improve this plan is to reorganize the maintenaince area and that be the support this developemnt, and increase the profit of the bussines. To prepare this certificate of research proficiency project, a current situational analysis of maintenance management was carried out. To carry out this analysis, reviews of studies in degree theses related to maintenance plans and bibliographic references on maintenance were required. The development of the report is the proposal for the management of a preventive maintenance plan for a polypropylene extruder. This maintenance management is based on the completion of technical sheets of parts, maintenance tasks and cost analysis. A task master is implemented where maintenance personnel will be able to carry out a better control of the entrusted activities, after the proposal and study of tasks by systems we calculate again the availability that is carried out in the results analysis. With the preventive maintenance management of this work, it is concluded to increase availability ,so the hypothesis raised would be demonstrated.
