Attention to operational emergencies in the first 220 kilometers of the Pipeline Hydrocarbon Transportation System (STD) of the Camisea Project is a challenge from a technical and logistical point of view. Mainly, caused by the geographical conditions that occur in the work areas. The economic technical applicability of flexible pipes will be evaluated as an alternative for the attention of operational emergencies in pipelines for the transportation of Natural Gas Liquids (NGL). In the research, hydraulic modeling was carried out in order to characterize and simulate the operating conditions of a pipeline. In addition, the High Risk Zones (ZAR) were identified, which are the areas with a high probability of rupture of the LGN pipeline. In summary, these areas belong to the Sierra Zone of the STD LGN and were identified with semi-quantitative modeling using the Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) software. Likewise, one of the areas was selected to conduct a comprehensive analysis to identify the resources required to attend to an operational emergency. In this hypothetical scenario, the use of a bypass was considered. Rollable flexible pipes were installed replacing the traditional by-pass made with rigid carbon steel pipes. An optimal selection system for a bypass was implemented based on technical economic analysis, to reduce operating costs to attend an operational emergency in the NGL pipeline of the Camisea project, optimizing times, logistics, human resources, to reset the STD LGN in the shortest time possible. Finally, during the attention to an operational emergency in a ZAR, the flexible pipe system was more effective and efficient, showing significant savings for the operator compared to the use of rigid pipes.
