Today, the design and operation of heap leach processes is still largely based on the experience of the operational side and general operational rules. Although considered a low-cost process for mineral extraction, the underlying physical and chemical processes are actually quite complex. Many researchers have devised numerous heap leach models, tending to simplify the complexity of the process and becoming of limited use in practice. It has been found that the recovery behavior in a heap is comparable to models developed in flotation processes. That is why in the present thesis a comparison of three mathematical models is made: first order, first order with rectangular distribution (Klimpel model) and second order, of which the one with the best adjustment to the laboratory test curves is identified. Once the optimal model is identified, a simulation of a leaching process is developed considering the main parameters of the process to estimate the production as an annual budget, in addition to estimating the daily production. This will allow us to have a medium and long term financial support.
