In this sufficiency report, the supervisory work in the maintenance of painting in storage tanks is detailed. Beginning by developing the foundations of corrosion in metals, citing the types of corrosion and the impact that it can have within the industry. A way to avoid this process is using coatings, we will see the components that make it up, their functionality in each type of product, mentioning the protection mechanisms of paints or coatings; we will also studies the different types of curing that industrial coatings have (oxidation, coalescence, etc.), this is important and should be taken into account when performing an application and a maintenance process. Chapter III explains the process of maintenance of paints, from the preparation, through the application and subsequent tests. Chapter IV describes the work and training of a supervisor, such as the management of technical standards, equipment or solutions that can be summarized in the process of maintenance of painting (common failures); We will also cite a case of study which may help us to understand the way in which a supervisor works in the field. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations that can be drawn from the report are mentioned, those that seek to highlight of the supervisory work and the way in which it can be improved. This report is based on the author's experience as a supervisor in the application of paint systems as part of the maintenance activities in various projects, this requires adding added value to the report, so that it can be used as bibliographic material for reference to anyone who wishes to get involved in such work.
