This Thesis develops a methodology that includes simulations and calculations to verify if a conventional generation project is susceptible to experience short term angular stability problems (transient stability) or to cause them in existing generation plants in its area of influence, and thus be able to limit its entrance to the Peruvian National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) with the purpose of avoiding eventual negative impacts on the system stability. The proposed methodology will be used to perform a short-, medium- and long-term analysis, allowing to evaluate the entrance of new projects in the Pre-Operational Study phase and confirm these results in the Operational Study. This methodology will allow to establish the amount of generation that can be connected in each of the main busbars of the SEIN and identify the busbars more sensitive to the entrance of conventional generation projects. Finally, the results from applying the methodology to a conventional generation project in the SEIN are presented.
