The objective of this thesis was to determine the benefits of implementing a Plant Information system in one of the mining units with the greatest capacity and production in Peru, evaluate economic gains and improvements in operational stability. This system is named PIMS, which means “Plant Information Management System“. It could be perceived that the maintenance, personnel, asset management and warehouse part are areas that, despite their little direct influence on the operational parameters, have a high impact when performed in an appropriate manner. The implementation of the project was divided into several stages, including the analysis of the scenario and the current instrumentation situation, the implementations for improvements in the network infrastructure, the execution of the project, and the calculation of benefits and future opportunities to the project. To achieve the execution, it was coordinated with various companies, standards were generated to support future implementation in other units of the group, opportunities were raised to contribute to the system, and some instruments were taken to carry out the preliminary evaluation of the project. It is good to highlight that the impact generated by the project was positive; however, after the analysis there was a decrease in the indicator due to external factors, thus demonstrating that this type of project implementation depends a lot on various factors.
