In this research, installation requirements for a medical Linear Accelerator are studied. The fact of not meeting the requirements has an impact in the subsequent operation of the equipment, producing failures with a root cause different to the machine itself. In that context, using the collection methods, the installation requirements with a major impact in the linear accelerator operation are analyzed. After the identification of the installation requirements with major impact, they are reviewed with the local regulations; in this case the regulator organisms are Ministerio de Salud (MINSA) and Oficina Técnica de la Autoridad Nacional (OTAN). As a result, a list of policies and norms that must be applied during the linear accelerator installation process is obtained. The list described is incorporated into a Linear Accelerator Installation Plan proposal, where the guidelines for every installation requirement identified are developed. The Installation Plan contains workflow diagrams, which propose the sequence of steps to follow for a proper linear accelerator installation, avoiding the omission of the regulations. To conclude, it is suggested to complement the Installation Plan developed with the specific requirements of every Linear Accelerator manufacturer. Furthermore, it is recommended to evaluate the failure modes of the equipment with a root cause different to the machine, and the costs related to the implementation of hospital infrastructure improvements (as a result of Plan execution), to be compared to those belonging to an installation prior to the Installation Plan execution.
