The purpose of this thesis is to obtain the Degree of Engineer in the specialty of Mechanical-Electrical in the National University of Engineering - UNI. The thesis framework is based on the design of a proposed emergency electrical system and its correct application for the industrial sector. Today companies can count on large losses due to shutdowns of their industrial plant from a power cut. We will focus on a particular industry, the company Marinazul, which is dedicated to the production and breeding of shrimp. Furthermore, we will understand the importance of continuous power supply in its application and know its main processes. We will also develop the calculations to determine scale and select an emergency system with generator sets. In addition, this system will be contrasted against others to choose the optimal solution. Finally, the magnitude of the economic impact will be assessed against not having an emergency system.
