The present work develops an automation system based on PLC and HMI for the control of the operation of a 460TPH cone-type tertiary crusher including its auxiliary systems - hydraulic unit and lubrication system. At present, the automation systems for conical crushers are developed by the same companies that manufacture the crushers, however, the particularities of each mining unit, the site conditions, as well as the cost of import and installation, cause the need to design and manufacture a control board designed specifically for each application. The present project therefore aims to demonstrate that it is possible to develop using own resources, PLC algorithms that efficiently and sustainably govern a cone-type tertiary crusher and its auxiliary systems; as well as manufacturing an electrical panel for this purpose, which complies with national and international norms and standards; Finally, the implementation of this national manufacturing automation system is economically more profitable than import. As a result, it can be seen that the automation system is capable of controlling the operation of the cone-type tertiary crusher, maintaining its operational capacity and meaning a reduction in the investment cost.
