The Amojao Irrigation Project located in the districts of Bagua, La Peca and Copallin, in the province of Bagua, Amazonas region, the manufacture of an irrigation system is carried out; in the order to improve the agricultural potential, the socioeconomic development and an adequate service of water and drainage of the population. The purpose of this thesis project was the design of one of the many hydraulic gates that are made for this project. The gate for the present thesis is a fixed-wheel gate of 1.5m x 2.5m and is located in the water intake of section I. At the present, the gate is installed and functioning for some months. Methodology that was used in this project, consisted in the search of books, software and standards for the design of the gate, as well as technical requirements of customer, costs, manufacturing, criteria of erection and maintenance, disposal of materials in the manufacturing workshop and past experience in others gates. With the results obtained from design, the drawings were made, then the manufacture, transport and subsequent erection where the effective design is verified. Finally, it is recommended to bear in mind this thesis for future projectors who are responsible for the design of a gate.
