The year 2017, in Piura's power sector, is seen with the main problems, among them, it was based on the growth of the demands of the region for 2018, and also the impact on the transmission electrical installations by the Coastal Child The power transformers of the Piura Oeste substation of 220/60 kV, were found with an operating overload of approximately 20%, so it was impossible to obtain the power supply to the different users that are interconnected through the substation Piura West. Therefore, in order to detect this problem, MEM, together with the company REPA ISA, have added an additional clause to the Concession Contract for Electric Transmission Systems, as well as Expansion Project No. 19. This project is divided into two stages, which is called milestone 01 and milestone 02. Being the first milestone, the installation of a provisional transformer in the SE Piura West that can supply the loads of the northern region, as well as the installation of the definitive transformer. This report describes the activities that led to the start-up in service 1 of the Expansion N ° 19 project, in which work is carried out on existing and energized facilities, the priority being that it does not affect the electricity supply of the northern region.
