The main theme of this thesis is to increase the effectiveness of a biscuit plant located in “Los Olivos” district through the implementation of continuous improvement techniques. The emergence of the issue begins because the company was not effective with its operational objectives for 6 continuous months mainly due to excessive consumption of labor an materiales resources. To increase the effectiveness of the biscuit plant, its effectiveness was calculated through efficiency and effectiveness through key performance indicators of deviation consumption of man hours, materials and the productivity factor. After validating the deviations, the Ishikawa diagram and surveys of the main actors were used to identify the central problem of the thesis. Continuing with the Deming cycle methodology, operational processes are defined to produce Wafer through operational, activity and flow diagrams. The planning stage culminates with the selection of the alternative solution and the formulation of strategies to be implemented. In the Do stage, the application of the study of the work, mass balance and the ABC classification of materials is done to know the initial situation and based on it, the improvement techniques called Just in Time, 5“S“, Autonomous Maintenance and improvement of the physical inventory taking process are executed. Finally, in the Verify and Act stage is checked, the reduction of material loss in 64.15%, the reduction in use of man hours in 42.35%, the increase in the productivity factor in 114%, the increase in the annual production of wafer in 159% and the increase of monthly inventories in 300% generating that in the economic evaluation carried out at 5 years the indicators are favorable indicating that the project is viable.
