The present work provides an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) of a Wastewater Treatment Plant Project (WTPP), focused on and following the principies of the ISO 14001 Standard. Its purpose is to identify the negative and positive impacts that they can be caused by the execution of the project, determine an environmental management plan. Currently, the project area located in the department of Lima, province of Cañete, district of Quilmaná, in the San Francisco Annex, has a potable water system through home networks that is in operation; therefore, to complement and optimize with a good Service, the installation of sewage networks and a WWTP has been considered, from which the construction has been planned in a total space of 3,604.53 m2. that will improve the health and life conditions of the population. It has been taken into account, some of the principies of the ISO 1400 standard, which has as its main requirements: the establishment of the legal and institutional framework that regúlate the execution of the Project; as the Political Constitution of Perú, the General Law of the Environment, the Law of the National System of Evaluation of the Environmental Impact, etc. in its various articles and laws. In the same way, consideration is given to local, central and regional government institutions. The diagnosis of the current situation of the area of influence of the project was made, carrying out field and cabinet work with the collection of relevant information, for the development of an environmental baseline considering elements that intervene in the EIA as the socio-economic, biological, water resource, etc. The environmental aspects of the construction, operation and maintenance, abandonment and closure of the WWTP are identified and evaluated; based on a series of methodologies such as: Leopold Type Matrix, Field Sheets and Cause- Effect Interaction Matrix, etc. applicable and according to the technical characteristics. Finally, the Environmental Management Strategy is developed in which mitigation, prevention, and control measures are defined, etc. forthe process of construction, operation and maintenance, abandonment and closure of the project in orderto be carried out in harmony with conservaron and socio-environmental protection. The advantage of the implementation of the ISO 1400 Standard is that they consolídate and strengthen the initiatives of an environmental management system, encouraging continuous improvement in a relationship with the international standard in the procedures and operations of the institutions in charge of projects.
