According to European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, the adoption of bad postures or forced movements, such as tilt and turn of the trunk, during manual handling of loads increases the risk of musculoskeletal disorders, of which back injuries are the main problem. In a survey conducted by the Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion (MINTRA) in the year 2016 shows that of the total number of labour accidents in Peru, 11% of them were caused of physical efforts and/or fake movements carried by the workers of a company. The present project consists of the design and implementation of a prototype that monitors the angle of the spinal column, through inertial measurement units and magnetometers, and to alert the user, via bluetooth communication, about bad postures made during the handling of loads up to 15 kg, in order to prevent musculoskeletal injuries to the spinal column.
