The Julieta Project is located at Santiago de Chuco province, La Libertad, just next to the south of golden deposits as Tres Cruces (2.5 Moz Au), Lagunas Norte (15 Moz Au), La Arena (4 Moz Au) and La Virgen (1.6 Moz Au). It has 3500 hectares of property claims. The Project geology sets at the Miocene volcanic domain of Calipuy Group and it is locally formed by volcanoclastic sequences, andesitic lava flows, multifase sub-volcanic bodies and hydrothermal breccias. The principal structures are represented by NW-SE and N-S faults. The secondary structural patrons are minor faults as NE-SW and E-W systems. Hydrothermal alterations are spread along of 3.5km x 1.5km area and they are composed for beige quartz and granular/massive quartz events, as well as quartz- dickite-pyrophillite-alunite associations, quartz-kaolinite-illite associations, smectite- illite and chlorite-magnetite-pyrite-epidote-carbonates associations. Five altered zones have been identified: Pilatos, Thermutis, Neftis, Isis y Amunet. At Thermutis sector, dickite-pyrophillite-alunite association is joined by patchy texture, that indicates porphyry to epithermal systems transition. Four kinds of breccias were identified at Julieta project, which were named: type 1 (freatic-hydrothermal), type 2 (hydrothermal) -both with significant gold anomalies-, type 3 (hydrothermal) with economic gold values, and type 4 (freatomagmatic-hydrothermal). Six ore events are described, where the amount of pyrite from the 4th and 5th events is nearly associated with anomalous gold valúes. Thirty percent of the sampling population was taken from outcrops showing higher than 100ppb valúes. The higher valúe is 4079ppb associated with a hydrothermal breccia from type 3. Gold anomalies with more than 100ppb valúes are spread along of 2.5km x 1.5km area. Alunite geochemistry shows that Na/(Na+K), Sr/Pb, La/Pb, Sr/La and Ag/Au ratios lead on temperature rising towards two principal zones. The first one, towards NW zone - Pilatos breccia- that presents altered rocks with patchy texture and several pulses of breccias with high gold anomalies. The second one leads towards east zone -Neftis breccia- where a freatomagmatic-hydrothermal breccia is located with pour gold anomalies. The study result finds that Julieta Project is located at lithocap base of a Cu- Au porphyry system, exactly at the "transition zone” because of the patchy texture found. That became NW sector (Pilatos Breccia) as the best prospective zone.
