The present thesis work includes mainly the necessary information, the key concepts, and shares the experience acquired in implementation projects carried out in the country and in Latin America, which are based on the methodology that must be carried out for the development of the implementation of a Geographic Information System (GIS), a device with complete applications, based on a proven platform, with robust and scalable technology, as a solution for the most appropriate and efficient management of the assets of the Electric Distribution Companies. The problem is that electricity distribution companies in the country do because they do not have a specialized system and are dedicated to the management of electricity network assets. All of the above leads to many distribution companies not being current in the current system and not realizing that they have between their assets installed in the field and the assets they manage with their current system. Carry out the Implementation of a GIS as a solution for the most appropriate and efficient management of the assets of the Electric Distribution Companies. Also, the lag of the assets installed in the field and the assets administered was reduced, and the regulator can be reported on time and correctly. The methodology proposed for the development of the implementation is based on the experience acquired in other implementation projects and was adapted for the implementation of the GIS Smallworld Electric Office implementation project for the company Electro Oriente - ITC. In this way it was possible to conclude that with the implementation of a new Geographic Information System (GIS) electric with international standards, it not only provided a solution for the most adequate and efficient management of the of the Electric Distribution Companies, which also has the integration with other key systems of the company and that has an integral solution, which offers the integral support of the planning, design, maintenance and operations processes. All of the above also helps in the decision making of companies in their different areas and provides the necessary tools to solve current problems and face future problems.
