This idea of study originates when one of the authors of this thesis, Engineer Luis Sánchez, received the suggestion of the subject on the part of Doctor Luis Lastra, professor at that time of the University of Engineering, considering that the natural gas, was being applied in substitution of gasoline and LPG, in Lima. Among one of the biggest beneficiaries of the low price of natural gas is public transportation, including taxis and buses. Thus, it was thought in a study of dynamic impact on the engine such as forces, moments, torques, and parts essential to the calculation of stress and wear of engine components, which occurs when vehicle engines are turned gasoline to CNG. Many of the vehicles converted to CNG have been used previously with the fuel for which they were designed, and therefore have wear or failure prior to conversion. This study aims to compare the dynamic behavior of the engine when using compressed natural gas and gasoline. Will broaden the knowledge in case they have to repair the engines and belittle the negative effects they produce.
